Re: Again - Power Outage on 2 phases from Saturday 15th DEC 2012!!

Salaams!

First, Mr. Hussein Abbas, Joan Wairimu is representing a media house and has nothing whatsoever to do with Kenya Power. Therefore she cannot give you the contacts of the 'higher authorities' of KP(LC).

Second, if you've noted the addresses of all the KP(LC), that I send my emails to, you can do the same. Btw, they also (I've discovered), fwd such emails to others in their offices!

Third, it is highly unfortunate that we as citizens of Kenya, have only recently started making 'noise' about the various questionable performing 'service' providers. These 'service' providers have been progressively become insolent and lethargic in their duties since DECADES when we have, for various reasons, been putting up with their third class services by hardly raising any objections. One of the reasons has been that EVERY SERVICE provision in this country has until recently been politicized and when anybody raised their voices in protest has been victimized by the authorities.

Hence, even you have the habit of involving politicians for the delivery of services that have and should have NOTHING to do with politics.

Also, our present 'service' providers have got into this habit (though outdated, now), of ignoring our complaints and criticisms.

Therefore, we now have to jolt them into taking immediate action by threatening them with legal action, which unfortunately, is the (only), 'language' they will probably understand...

Best wishes for the new year,
Raziya

Dear Joan Wairimu ,

I think Ms Raziya Mohamedali has already respond to your email also .
So let me also ask you one thing , those who don't have Computer not
Educated have no mobile to call etc . Which way they can complain or
Call the Emmergency .
I suggest that , when a complain is raised a Supervisor should visit the
area and this only when they keep one in each area within Mombasa County
etc . Now example I have send an email complaining on the Transformer
at Old Town no one has come to check why or respond to the email now is
that we have to follow Kenya Power@Kenya Power . I don't understand this.
So let me have their email or the top person in KPLC who can take action
immediately .

Dear Raziya ,

First :- We don't have leaders who can speak for the Ummah

Second : No qualified Technicians or Engineers

Third : No one listens at the Emmergency when you call . The
phone will ring and no respond . We have to go Liwatoni
Office to complain . When we will have peace of mind GOD
knows .

So if we had leaders than at list they can talk in Parliament ,
meet the head of the departments . Just move around in Town
and see how the Wires/Cables  are droping down when you pass
you feel anything serious can happen GOD Forbid .

We have a Transformer that is lying for almost a year now not
working or connected , this was suppose to reduce the problem
we are facing here in Old Town (Kibokoni) on daily basis .

'Evening!

Why is it that Mombasa has so many outages and complete blackouts not to mention fluctuations galore?

Since, I left Msa end of November to travel up-country, it's been a relief of many kinds.

One of these is the fantastic roads and other infrastructure that you encounter as soon as you leave Coast Province.

The power is also not so unpredictable as in Mombasa which is a real relief. I am now in Eldoret as I write this and since I arrived here about 2 weeks ago, there have been only 2 incidences of fluctuations and only one outage of a few minutes.

Now, one wonders why this is so. After all it is the same Chief Eng. who used to be in Msa till a few months ago, who is in charge. He was transferred to Eldoret.

So, why is it that these people cannot work as efficiently and thoroughly as they do up-country? This state of affairs brings to mind suspicious thoughts...

Why is Coast Province so behind in EVERYTHING?! Who is to blame? NONE of our service providers do a thorough job, nor are they accountable or seem to have any professonalism or ethics, either. What could be the reason?

RE the power outages almost on a daily basis and for even a whole day are nearly unheard of up-country. Why is this? Of course, this does not mean that KP(LC), start their nonsense behaviour out here, too. In fact, they should be giving a service on a par with the rest of the country, instead. Why are they not?

At present Mombasa is not only unbearably HOT but is full of visitors from all over including our so-called political 'tribe'. I just hope and pray that they too are suffering these outages in full like the rest of the Wananchi.

Can our power company please give us an explanation of this unequal and unjust behaviour?

Dear Mr. Robert,

Again - Power Outage on 2 phases from Saturday 15th DEC 2012
Location: Kilima Road (Behind the Nyali - Links Rd Substation)

We Thank You Greatly for your below mentioned email.

However, Sadly we once more have to come back to you within 2 weeks to complain for 2 phases not present since 15th Dec, 2012.

Below is the details with reference number of our calls to customer care:
1. 15th DEC 2012 - 5.50PM - 589462
2. 16th DEC 2012 - 10.20PM - 1746899
3. 17th DEC 2012 - Still 2 Phases Not Present.

a) We do notice that, after each complain - all the power goes and when it returns back only 1 phase returns.

b) It looks like only our side (Area) and the apartments on Umoja Estate Road (Which i think i called Rainbow Estate) loose power. The opposite side from us going towards link roads always have power.

Finally, I strongly ask that during each outage your company 'Kenya Power' to 'clarify' why there is an outage with a fact or reason. E.g., Transformer is being changed / Cables are being upgraded / Regular Power Rationing etc. The people need to know or have a valid reason as to why their area does not have power. We would be most obliged if your esteemed department could kindly look into this once more and to find a Permanent Solution!.

Best Regards,
Bhagat.

Dear Sir / Madam,
Kindly Note, we have not had 2 phases power from yesterday - 28th November 2012 until now - in Nyali - Kilima Road - Behind your Sub-Power Station.
Please note, this is really inconvenient and moreover shameful for such a large corporate company to have such a large power outage.
We have called customer care twice within the past two days. After numerous tries, someone will pick the phone and assist us for which we are Grateful.
However, Please Assist in Restoring this Power Outage.
